Workforce Training Grants
Provides grant funding for customized, skills-based curriculum development and training to new or expanding businesses in Florida’s qualified targeted industries through partial reimbursement. These industries are high-skill industries, have an exportable good or service, and have wages of 125% above state or local wages.
The program is a state-funded grant program that provides funding to qualifying businesses to train their net new, full-time employees. Funding is provided in the form of a performance-based reimbursable grant, for a 12-month maximum term, estimated at $800-$1,500 per job. All applications for new and expanding businesses creating new high-
quality jobs are given equal consideration and are processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
On-The-Job Training Grants
Select new employees from a pool of existing and/or eligible candidates and receive an incentive for these employees to learn the skills they need on the job. Grants pay 50% - 90% of new hires’ wages while they train with your company.
Incumbent Worker Training Grants
This program provides grant funding for continuing education and training of current employees at existing Florida companies in order for them to maintain a competitive business. The program will provide reimbursement grants to businesses that pay for pre-approved, direct, training-related costs.
Applications are reviewed on a first-come/first -served basis until available funding has been awarded. Grants pay up to 50% of employer’s approved training costs up to $30,000.
Employed Worker Training
A grant for short-term training of current employees to retain their jobs or advance in the company. Grants pay up to 50% of employer’s approved training costs up to $50,000.
Employed Worker Training Program is intended to provide financial assistance to employers that recognize the importance of investing in their employees. Studies show that employees recognize the value of attaining new skills.
