Dade City's 17th Annual Kumquat Festival® is quickly approaching!
January 7, 2014
The Festival will be held Saturday January 25th, 2014 in Downtown Dade City, centered around Pasco County’s iconic historic courthouse. Each year, over 40,000 attendees including Florida residents from Tampa Bay and surrounding counties, winter residents, tourists and “day trippers” enjoy a day of fun, shopping and entertainment. Festival admission is free, parking is free, shuttles are free and entertainment is free!! The Festival celebrates the “little gold gem of the citrus industry” and, in partnership with Kumquat Growers Inc, showcases all the wonderful advantages of this versatile, tasty and healthy fruit. Historic Downtown Dade City will be transformed into a gigantic marketplace focused on local businesses, hundreds of specialty vendors, dozens of partner sponsors, and the friendly, down home, unique old Florida experience that the Annual Kumquat Festival® has come to mean. Here is a video recap from last year! “Once again, Dade City and Eastern Pasco County are preparing to welcome thousands of residents and visitors to our area. It is our pleasure to produce this quality event, and we invite everyone to enjoy the Festival and come back and visit us again” says John Moors, Executive Director of the Greater Dade City Chamber of Commerce. In the weeks leading up to the Festival the Chamber of Commerce will host the Kumquat Pageant, Kumquat Recipe Contest, Kumquat Quilt Contest, Merchants’ Window Decorating Contest and Grove and Packing House Tours. The Greater Dade City Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit organization with 400 plus members, committed to economic development and the quality of life for our residents.
