On October 5th the country celebrated Manufacturing Day for the first time in its history. Manufacturing Day was designed to expand the general public's knowledge about manufacturing and promote the benefits of manufacturing careers and the value manufacturing has to the U.S. economy. Unfortunately, the perception of manufacturing jobs here in America is not the reality. Did you know that for every manufacturing job created, nearly 3 jobs in other sectors are created? These aren't the manufacturing jobs of parent's past either. The average annual salary for a manufacturing worker is $77,000, and for entry-level manufacturing engineers the average annual salary is almost $60,000.
