Disaster Planning

Pasco County is made up of thousands of businesses, both large and small.  Should Pasco County be affected by a major disaster, Pasco Economic Development Council is here to assist businesses with recovery, assistance programs, and information.  Pasco EDC is the official liason to connect Pasco County businesses with Federal, State, and local government agencies and programs.  To ensure adequate support, Pasco EDC with coordinate with the five chambers of commerce to identify staff and alternates for the Emergency Operations Center and for the Business Disaster Recovery Center.

Preparation Can Make the Difference

Developing a written hurricane preparedness plan and training your employees to implement that plan is critical.  That is why we are happy to direct employers to the Florida Business Disaster Survival Kit.

The kit is divided into four sections to assist you in developing a plan for your business.  To find out more visit the Florida Business Disaster Survival Kit website

Keep in mind that the Pasco County Office of Emergency Management (OEM) can provide assistance in developing both your hurricane procedures and staff training program.  We encourage you to review the Pasco OEM website which has some very useful and informative information.

In case of disaster, it is vital for Pasco EDC to have records regarding the personnel authorized to be on your site during recovery operations as well as advance knowledge of special needs your business may require.  We ask that all Pasco County businesses complete a registration form each year with updated information by May 1.
