Utilities, Data & Telecom

The right business infrastructure is necessary for companies looking to succeed.  Each of the utility providers in Pasco County provide the consistent and high-quality level of utility service needed to power our fast-growing economy, and they work with the business community to ensure they continue to provide the best quality service and keep up on market demands.  Pasco County is served by three (3) electric providers, three (3) telecommunication providers, two (2) natural gas providers, and a number pf public and private water and sewer providers.

Duke Energy

Duke Energy primarily serves southwest Pasco County and the Zephyrhills area of east Pasco County.

Tampa Electric Company (TECO)

Tampa Electric is a leading provider of electricity in West Central Florida. Withlacoochee River Electric Cooperative (WREC)

Since 1947, Withlacoochee River Electric Cooperative has serviced customers in Pasco, Hernando, and Citrus Counties.  As a non-profit organization, members of the Cooperative work together for a common goal, and share in the excess margins (profits) of the Cooperative based on their patronage (annual energy charges), which has contributed to the reasonable energy costs enjoyed by their customers.  WREC primarily serves the northern and central portions of Pasco County with the exception of the Dade City area.

Natural Gas Providers

Clearwater Gas

Clearwater Gas System has provided energy-efficient gas service to local residents and businesses since 1923. CGS operates over 890 miles of underground
gas main; including supply and distribution of both natural and propane (LP) gas to serve over 21,500 customers in a 330 square mile service territory, which includes southwest and south-central Pasco County. CGS offers residential and commercial gas appliances, installation of customer gas piping, service and repair, construction and maintenance of underground gas mains/service lines, and a 24-hour emergency response guarantee and is regulated for safety by the Florida Public Service Commission and the Federal Department of Transportation.
