The series will take you through determining feasibility and legal structures; developing financial projections; obtaining a loan; accounting and bookkeeping processes; and attracting customers. Week 1
- Starting Your Business- Tues., Jan. 14 from 5:30-8:00 PM You’ve got the idea. Now, learn the essentials you need to get started. Course covers taxes, licenses and entity selection for forming partnerships, LLCs and corporations.
- Marketing Your Business- Thurs., Jan. 16 from 5:30-8:30 PM "Build it and they will come" is NOT a marketing strategy! This pivotal seminar will help you avoid the "Big Mistake" made by unsuccessful start-ups.
Week 2
- Basic Business Taxes- Tues., Jan. 21 from 5:30-8:30 PM Every business must report taxes but how you pay depends on the type of business you have. Taught by a CPA
- Building Your Business Plan with LivePlan- Thurs., Jan. 23 from 5:30-8:30 PM Business planning is the foundation to starting a new venture. Receive all the tools necessary to complete a practical business plan. Registration includes a six-month subscription of the LivePlan web-based business planning software.
Week 3
- Bookkeeping Basics- Tues., Jan. 28 from 5:30-8:30 PM Learn how to properly classify and record basic business transactions.
- Financing Your Business- Thurs., Jan. 30 from 5:30-8:00 PM In this course, an experienced SBA business loan specialist will teach you how to ask for a loan, get prepared for the bank and find money in a tight-fisted economy.
