Pasco County, Fla.  (June 6, 2017) —  The Pasco Economic Development Council is pleased to welcome new Marketing/Communications Manager, Lauren St. Martin.  St. Martin joined the team in May, shortly after the departure of Jennifer Lachtara.

“Pasco County has such a diverse makeup and close proximity to Tampa, making it an undeniable force to be reckoned with,” says St. Martin. “The programs Pasco EDC runs and the steps they are taking to develop business in Pasco are crucial. I am born and raised in Pasco and have a strong passion to help my home be the best it can be, so joining such a dynamic team is very exciting.”

St. Martin is no stranger to promoting Pasco. She has previously held positions with the West Pasco Chamber of Commerce and Visit Pasco. Her roles have varied including event planning, marketing and public relations in both public and private settings.  She holds a degree in Mass Communications- Public Relations, as well as an Event and Meeting Planning Certificate from the University of South Florida and will bring a broad range of experience from marketing planning and strategy to graphic design and copywriting to her new role.  She recently received the honor of being voted a future industry leader by Destination Marketing Association International in their 30 Under 30 Program.

“Lauren’s experience and energy are perfect fits for Pasco EDC as we turn the corner towards becoming Florida’s most competitive business climate,” said Bill Cronin, President/CEO of the Pasco Economic Development Council. “Being a Pasco native, she knows our product well and she wants Pasco to win…that winning attitude will serve our business community well.” Cronin also noted that over 275 people applied for the position.

With a portion of Penny for Pasco Funds designated for economic development and job creation over the life of the program, the Pasco Economic Development Council works with Pasco County to help guide the economic development programming.  Increased visibility and marketing is a top priority, and St. Martin will play a leadership role in this arena.
