The brand-new ConnectOPP tool allows employers to post community engagement opportunities and connect with job-seekers.

PASCO COUNTY, FLORIDA (October 4, 2023): Pasco Economic Development Council’s (Pasco EDC) workforceCONNECT program is excited to announce the launch of new website features to help bridge the gap between employers and career seekers. There are now more tools and resources available to the Pasco County business community on a user-friendly website. The new features include but are not limited to:

  1. ConnectOPP
    1. ConnectOPP is an opportunity platform for businesses to form connections and share experiences. It is designed exclusively for building robust talent pipelines, exploring careers, and cultivating sought-after skills in Pasco County. This easy-to-use tool serves as a conduit between employers and jobseekers, where employers can play a pivotal role in helping individuals discover their career interests, acquainting them with available job prospects, and guiding them towards acquiring the necessary skills to achieve their desired career paths.
  2. Find Your Place Map
    1. Pasco County's job market provides a range of options to suit career seeker’s skills and ambitions, whether they are interested in Advanced Manufacturing, Aerospace, Aviation, and Defense, Business and Professional Services, High Technology, Life Sciences and Medical Technology, or Logistics and Distribution. The companies listed on this interactive map tool offer employee training and/or professional development opportunities.
  3. Resource Pages (for employers and career seekers)
    1. New resource pages have been created that separate and dive into opportunities for both employers and career seekers. These pages are separated to focus on resources that cater specifically to each audience. Employers can find resources such as how to recruit/upskill their workforce and career seekers gain access to resources that show career pathways and more.
  4. Data Toolbox
    1. This collection of data and statistics helps users collect data to make decisions for their business and workforce.

“Pasco County’s target industry workforce has increased by 50.7 percent over the past decade and has over 10,500 jobs in the pipeline that will need to be filled in the next ten years,” stated Bill Cronin, Pasco EDC President/CEO. “It’s crucial that we continue to work with our business community to understand their workforce needs and align them with the proper education and training partners. This refreshed platform gives them many opportunities to connect with resources and career seekers.”

The goal of the workforceCONNECT program is to connect Pasco County businesses and career seekers to valuable data and community resources. WorkforceCONNECTpasco.com allows employers to look intently at our region’s talent pipeline, find programs that produce the talent that will thrive in their industries, and explore resources that can help their business stand out to top candidates. The platform gives career seekers access to available internships, educational opportunities, and career pathways to jobs in Pasco County. The program is supported by the Penny for Pasco.
