PASCO COUNTY, FLORIDA (May 5, 2020) — Today, the Pasco County Board of County Commissioners voted to fund the remaining eligible and approved applications previously received by the Pasco EDC during the grant application period from April 21-22. The Pasco Emergency Business Grant is now anticipated to help up to 1,400 companies in Pasco County using Penny for Pasco funds up to $7,000,000.
“Our small business community is the heart of Pasco County and I am thrilled we are able to support more small businesses through the Pasco Emergency Business Grant program,” Pasco County Commission Chairman Mike Moore said. “I greatly appreciate the Pasco EDC staff processing the funding quickly to give our business community the support it needs.”
Out of the first 450 grant applications received, 405 qualified for $1,965,000. Of those, 375 companies have been processed for the grant totaling $1,875,000.
“My team has been working around the clock in many different areas to support the needs of our business community,” said Bill Cronin, President/CEO, Pasco EDC. “We are reaching out to companies to see what their needs are and they are also reaching out to us for help. We are building new relationships and that’s a great feeling during these uncertain times. The gratitude we are receiving from the applicants has been very rewarding for our team.”
Pasco EDC partnered with Pasco County to provide this RELIEF grant to small businesses impacted by COVID-19 through Penny for Pasco funding. The Pasco Emergency Business Grant is an emergency grant up to the amount of $5,000 to support small businesses and the local Pasco County economy. The funds will be distributed on a first-submitted, eligible and approved application basis.
