Seven awards were distributed at last night’s event

PASCO COUNTY, FLORIDA (September 6, 2019) - Last evening hundreds were in attendance at the Pasco EDC 33rd Annual Awards and Trade Show, including many local business leaders and government officials.

“The growth we are seeing in Pasco right now is outstanding, all 14 Award Finalists made great investments in their businesses and community” said Bill Cronin, Pasco EDC, President/CEO. “I can’t think of a better way to wrap up the Pasco EDC’s year, than to honor the amazing six companies we awarded and Dr. Gills.”

Nominees were scored based on: company growth, leadership in current business issues, and corporate citizenship. The 2019 Pasco EDC Award Winners are:

  1. Start-Up Business of the Year: The Point Distillery
    A small professional distillery, bottling, and co-packing operation location on Little Road in New Port Richey committed to quality, excellence, and exceeding customer expectations.

  2. Special Contribution:  AdventHealth Wesley Chapel
    This modern hospital campus was built from the ground up with the communities in mind.  Staff delivers whole-person care inspired by the principles of CREATION Life – Choice, Rest, Environment, Activity, Trust, Interpersonal Relationships, Outlook, and Nutrition.  

  3. Small Business of the Year:  Design & Construction Innovations, LLC
    DCI is a full-service general contractor specializing in commercial, residential, and government construction projects in the State of Florida with over 35 years of combined experience in commercial and residential construction as well as architectural design.

  4. Medium Business of the Year:  Millian-Aire Enterprises, Corp.
    Family-owned and in operations since 1989, Millian-Aire has over 75 years of combined experience and provides the most reliable and cost-efficient HVAC services in the industry using the best practices and latest technologies.

  5. Large Business of the Year:  Welbilt, Inc.
    Welbilt provides the world’s top chefs and premier chain operators with industry-leading equipment and solutions for the food industry.  Their cutting-edge designs and lean manufacturing tactics are powered by deep knowledge, operator insights, and culinary expertise. 

  6. Special Recognition:  Medical Center of Trinity
    Medical Center of Trinity represents three points of focus:  wellness, prevention, and healing.  MCT represents a unique geographic position in the community, located in the tri-county area of Pasco, Pinellas, and Hillsborough counties.

  7. Leadership Award:  Dr. James P. Gills
    A world-renowned ophthalmologist, Dr. James P. Gills, is a generous philanthropist, athlete, author, and man of faith. After years of persistence and dedication, his vision for a new community developed into what is now know as Trinity, Florida, in southwest Pasco County.
