January 14, 2020
Mike Bishop, founder of Big Storm Brewing Co., has been hired as the new Director of Stakeholder Engagement
PASCO COUNTY, FLORIDA (January 14, 2020) — The Pasco Economic Development Council (Pasco EDC) is pleased to welcome Mike Bishop to its staff as Director of Stakeholder Engagement, which is a newly-formed position. This position was carefully put together over the past six months as the Pasco EDC staff and Board of Directors worked on the new 2019-2021 WIN 2.0 Strategic Plan.
Bishop was selected after an extensive search for this unique role. After a career in financial services, he founded the first micro-brewery in Pasco County and helped grow it into one of the most well-known craft breweries in the State of Florida. During his time at Big Storm Brewing Co., Bishop worked closely with the Pasco EDC as an investor and advocate for economic development in Pasco County.
“Mike created a successful business and grew it from the ground up, right here in Pasco County,” said Bill Cronin, President/CEO, Pasco EDC. “He was CEO, CFO, Head of Sales and Head Brewer, being able to play a variety of roles along with his interaction with our organization over the years make him the perfect choice for our Director of Stakeholder Engagement.”
His role is a community-facing position which strives to enhance the Pasco EDC and Pasco County’s relationships amongst business leaders. He also oversees local, national and international event coordination and logistics, while serving as an enthusiastic spokesperson for the Pasco EDC.
“I’ve been an avid supporter of the Pasco EDC for many years and have served on several committees and attended most of their functions,” said Mike Bishop, Pasco EDC Director of Stakeholder Engagement. “I’m proud to join the staff and use my background in business and public relations to continue the great work the EDC does for our community.”
Bishop is a long-time Pasco resident and earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of South Florida with emphasis in Finance.
