Pasco EDC opens new entrepreneur space in Holiday

Pasco Economic Development Council has opened a new entrepreneur space in Holiday called the SMARTstart incubator.
The space will be co-located in the AmSkills Innovation Center, a manufacturing-focused development and training initiative. The incubator focuses on supporting entrepreneurs in the area through education, workspace, collaboration, funding and guidance, according to a release.

The Point Distillery is expanding and will be creating 20 to 25 new jobs, according to background materials in the Pasco County Commission’s Aug. 22 agenda packet.
The distillery, in New Port Richey, will be adding a new bottling line, which will expand the company’s ability to obtain contracts, nationally and internationally, according to a news release from the Pasco Economic Development Council (EDC).

Moffitt Cancer Center's planned 775-acre campus has hit a new milestone.
President and CEO Patrick Hwu, former Florida Senate President Wilton Simpson and others broke ground on the "Speros FL" campus in Pasco County on Friday in front of over 150 people. As part of the occasion, Moffitt announced that Simpson would be honored for his efforts to fund the campus with two namesake projects: a road called Wilton Way and the first 75 acres of development called the W.E. Simpson Concourse for Cures.
